Join Symphony by the Sea for an unforgettable afternoon celebrating the brilliance and joy of
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, featuring beloved SBS favorite Keila Wakao. Praised for her
expressive artistry and musical poise, Wakao returns to the SBS stage to perform one of Mozart’s most enduring violin concertos—a work filled with elegance, warmth, and virtuosity.
The program also brings together an extraordinary ensemble of guest artists from the Boston
Symphony Orchestra, including Keisuke Wakao, former longtime Principal Oboist of the
BSO, alongside three of his distinguished colleagues—Christopher Elchico (clarinet), Josh
Baker (bassoon), and Michael Winter (French horn). Collectively, these musicians represent
decades of performance at the highest international level, having appeared on the world’s most
prestigious stages and recordings.
The evening culminates in Mozart’s exuberant Sinfonia Concertante, a radiant showcase of solo
winds and orchestra that highlights both individual virtuosity and spirited musical dialogue.
Opening the program is Mozart’s youthful Symphony No. 4, a charming and energetic work that
offers a glimpse into the genius of the composer’s early years.
