[About Symphony by the Sea]
Symphony by the Sea is the premier professional orchestra north of Boston. Established in 1981 it provided a group of talented professional musicians a local outlet for their talent and passion.
Over the years, Symphony by the Sea has brought an outstanding array of soloists to its stage, including young performers at the beginning of their careers as well as seasoned veterans…reflecting the breadth and depth of the music community.
The orchestra continues its tradition of presenting a wide range of beloved classical masterpieces, opera and music from the films and Broadway stage. The orchestra’s concert venue at the historic, beautifully restored Cabot Theater in Beverly is a perfect match for the chamber-sized ensemble of 35-40 musicians. In recent years, the renowned Music Director has incorporated pre-performance talks from the podium, enhancing the programs with his wealth of teaching experience, and making the music even more accessible to the audience.
Symphony by the Sea is a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers and is grateful for the community’s continued support.
